Once upon a time there was a girl named Misty. |
She liked going to school, reading books, writing stories, and teaching classes. |
She also liked hanging out with her parents, who would travel to neat places and then let her come visit. |

| In the fall of 2006, Misty's parents decided to volunteer for the
National Park Service.
|
 Their boss was a cool guy named Ranger Doug. |
Though she was currently dating someone else, Roy and Mary wondered,
"Hmm. Do you think we could set Misty up with Ranger Doug?"
|
|
So Misty came to visit for spring break '07 and met Ranger Doug. Sparks flew.
|
Despite his many attractive qualities, as it turned out, Ranger Doug
was single. And, since she'd just broken up with her boyfriend
a few days before spring break, so was Misty. |

Early that summer, while Misty was in Rome, one of the things she most enjoyed was sending long e-mails to Ranger Doug. And reading the long e-mails that he sent her. | Upon learning that Ranger Doug was going to be in the northeast that summer for training, Misty invited him on a date to one of her favorite restaurants, the Dinosaur BBQ. |

| Tempted by this offer, Ranger
Doug made the long drive to Ithaca. He arrived on July 11.

| It didn't take Misty long to decide that she wasn't letting this one get away. | |||
| Given that they lived 1439 miles apart, Misty and Doug's courtship ranged over several states and cities: Vermont, NY, Philadelphia, Chicago, Columbia, SC, and FL. |

| Then, in May 2008, when he was in Ithaca for
her graduation, Doug surprised Misty with a proposal and a ring. Fortunately, she had a ring for him, too. |
|
So, not only did Misty get a degree that weekend, but she also got a Doug.

And they are sure to live happily ever after.
