Misty & Doug Get Married

Back

It started with a pair of rings, his and hers.

Then there were parties.

Then there was a lot of planning to do.

Lots of parties.

We'll skip over that part.  It was tiring.

Misty gave Doug his first.

What would a bride be without a bridal shower?   Or showers? There were so many details to keep track of!

My fabulous maid of honor!

I admit it -- I was thoroughly spoiled.

I made this!  I made many things.  Many.

Fortunately, my brother got married first, so I learned a lot from watching him.

Plus, I had the best bridesmaids ever.

I gave them lists of instructions--lists!--and they didn't kill me.

They made it so easy on me.

I would have killed me. I told you they were the best.

Rehearsal helped work out all the kinks. . .

. . . and we got to eat good food after.

We were so blessed in the friends and family who came from near and far to be with us.

And Doug took the list thing pretty well.

After a week of no sleep for Misty, the big day arrived.

Everybody cleaned up nicely. Me included.

Yep, we were a good-looking group.

The day was simply perfect: full of joy, and surprisingly relaxed.

Of course, I wasn't doing any of the hard work.

And then . . . the most important moment arrived. I didn't trip walking down the aisle. Both of us remembered the vows we'd memorized.

Doug didn't make a run for it, though he had the chance.

A few magic words, a smooch, and . . .

Married!

Sure, we could have eloped . . . . . . but this way, we had all our favorite people with us to celebrate.

And celebrate we did.

On our way to happily ever after.

And thanks to all our dear ones who were there with us in body or in spirit.
